before & after: a "new" old chair

I can't remember how long this chair has been shoved in the back of our garage. Most likely it was called "home" to a good number of mice. But even before that, it took up residence in a dumpster. My dad just happened upon it one day at work, and in true father fashion, the good man dug it out and brought it home. With it's back broken, it was in sorry shape, and he ended up passing it along to me. Thanks, Dad! And thank you, Ruth (mil) for working your magic on her!

The material is beautiful! The slight texture is perfect and just what I was looking for.
Instead of stitching the back into shell-like seams as before, we just added buttons for a nice tuft.

I was so undecided on what type of upholstery tack I wanted, but eventually decided against the traditional rounded ones. These are tiny and flat-headed and I think it was a wise choice! They look great and I like how they set the chair apart from the "norm" of upholstery tacking.

She is beautiful and is sitting proudly and patiently in the living room, waiting for other pretties to join her.

I can't believe that's the same chair. It looks incredible!

I'm a fellow Living in Yellow sponsor for May so I just wanted to pop on over and say hello! Can't wait to follow along!

Oh my that chair is amazing. I love things like this! This makes me want to spend my day in thrift stores looking for hidden gems- although I don't have the talent (nor does my dad) to uncover it in this manner. Your dad is good!
